Dr Esther Kim’s friendly and approachable nature makes her a favourite with her patients, their children and families. Esther practices conservative and preventative dentistry and ultimately aims to provide a comfortable dental experience for all her patients. She prides herself on her thoroughness and ensures that every job is of the highest quality.

After growing up in Sydney’s Northern suburbs, Esther moved to the Gold Coast to pursue a career in dentistry studying at Griffith University where she completed her Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and Graduate Diploma in Dentistry with academic distinction. Before joining Pimpama Dental, Esther practised in various hospital dental clinics, as well as private practices throughout Australia.

Esther enjoys all aspects of dentistry and has a particular interest in Prosthodontics, Invisalign and Oral Surgery, and is currently undergoing continuing education in Orthodontics.

Outside of work, Esther maintains a healthy lifestyle with yoga and relaxing by the beach.

Dr Rhett Shapcott joined the team at Pimpama Dental in January 2015 and quickly became trusted and respected by our patients. His warm friendly manner makes him very approachable and easy to talk to regarding your dental concerns.

Rhett graduated from Gold Coast University and has been practising as a private dentist since 2008. He enjoys all areas of dentistry and takes great pride in the science and artistry of his work. With a former history in psychology, he has a special interest in helping people overcome their fear of visiting the dentist.

Rhett is a believer that dental education is the key to helping people achieve and maintain a healthy and beautiful smile.

Originally from NSW, Rhett and his wife Georgia have been living on the Gold Coast for the last 10 years and love to spend their free time at the beach or socialising with friends.

Following her graduation from Alexandria University in Egypt, Mervat married and immigrated to Melbourne, Australia in 1981. She started a family while studying for the ADC (Australian Dental Council) examinations and obtained her Australian Dental qualification in 1986.

Mervat owned two Dental Practices in Melbourne where she practiced for 10 years before relocating to Queensland in 1996. In Queensland, Mervat worked on the Sunshine Coast and in Brisbane before becoming part of the Pimpama Dental team.

As part of her commitment to professional development Mervat regularly attends continuing education courses and seminars. She is devoted to providing her patients with exceptional standard of care while helping them maintain good oral health.

Away from work, Mervat enjoys holidaying, cooking and entertaining family and friends.
